CrossOver - Part 3


We have received some request to put the notes from our messages up on-line, so this will be our first set of notes. We have been dealing with a message series entitled "crossover" which encourages us to get outside our 4 walls and get into marketplace.

Title: Crossover Part 3
Text: Luke 7:36-50


As we continue to deal with this series on crossover, it is important that we go back to our key premise!


*The Body of Christ has become comfortable within our 4 walls, and in order for us to fulfill the mandate that God has on our life, we must get out of our comfort zones.
Jesus, our example, taught in the synagogue, but he healed all manner of sickness and disease among the people - Matthew 4:23
The Great Commission of the church is a mandate to "make disciples", and this mandate can only be accomplished if we immerse ourselves in the "marketplace" - Matthew 28:19-20


Crossover is about thinking and operating outside of the box!


One of the areas that I think we have the most problem in getting out of our comfort zone is as it pertains to giving!


The message of giving, prosperity, seed time and harvest, has been so polluted in the body of Christ, that those that desire for God's people to truly understand the principles often do not deal with it, however, if we are going to get out of the box we must do it in every area of our lives - crossover


Luke 7:36 - This begins a story that I am sure many of us have heard before, and today I want to look at this story in the light of the seed that was sown!


Luke 7:37 - Her condition caused her to bring an offering
This was no small gift, but this was a precious seed. When I say precious, I mean she was willing to give up something that meant something to her.
- The contents of the alabaster box could have been worth up to a years salary
- In order for her to use the contents of the box, it had to be broken
- When Abraham was told to bring Isaac, that was a precious seed, but his obedience to the voice of God proved that he was willing to "get out of the box with his giving"
