Hip-Hop Summit?

This could not go by without some conversation. While I was reading in our local paper, I came across This article. There has been much talk about youth violence in our area, and it seems like this is one of the things that people would like to do to fix it. But my question to all of the readers is, "how does pushing Hip-Hop deter violence". Now, if you have any understanding of the message behind hip-hop, you realize that this will not work!
Read the article, and sound off - Maybe we can make some changes!

Anger & Temptation

There has been a lot of great conversation going on at my church in regards to the topic of anger & Sin. Before I post on what we came up with, I thought that I would open up the conversation to our on-line readers and get your thoughts on the subject ( I guess this is somewhat of a poll). I will give this a few days and then I will post the teaching notes from our classes and take more comments. These are the two questions:
Is Anger Sin?
Is Temptation Sin?
We look forward to your comments!

Youth Violence

I had the pleasure of being invited to speak at a youth non - violence rally. The rally was held in a parking lot, on one of the busiest streets in our City, and even though I feel like the event was great, I did walk away with a burning question.
"If we are going to have these rallies to change those that are violent in our cities, why do we never invite any violent people"?
I spoke to a crowd of people who may have been victims, but were not the source of the problems. If you are having brake trouble, you do not decide to replace the tires! Sure they are connected, but they are not the source of the issue.
What are your thoughts on stopping the violence in our cities?

Do we Understand What Love Is?

Love is one of those topics that gets a lot of "air-time" in the church, but as we have been teaching on this subject, the response that we have been getting shows that many people in the body of Christ do not really have a full understanding of what Love is. So in the spirit of this transparent site. I want to give you the opportunity to "Sound Off" on this subject.
"What is Love?
