When Oprah Winfrey rightly criticizes hip hop for degrading women, she is attacked by some of the biggest artist performing today - why? Because honest comments about some of the negative influences of Hip Hop hit home - or the pockets of those who make a nice living off the art form. All Hip Hop is not negative but there must be some responsibility for the influence that reaches all parts of our society -this also should involve the responsibility of parents to let their children know what behaviors or influences are destructive. And if Oprah does not care for some Hip Hop - so what - that is her choice - are the rappers really upset with Oprah or afraid of her influence?
 

I think they are affraid of what she can take from their pockets - but in addition to that, I also think that parents have not done a good job in teaching their children the dangers that this can have on the mindset of their children. While I have heard all of the stories about "I do not listen to the words only the music", the bottom line is that these lyrics are burned into your memory and your know them rather you want to or not!
