I would like to be the first to answer this question. For some, the world hinders our complete commitment to Christ. Worldly things and ideas can be tempting, and some people are just not ready to give that temptation up. They are not looking at the big picture...and the life beyond this world. Sure...worldy things may be fun now...but Hell is not a fun place, I'm sure of it. Far few people don't understand that a solid complete commitment now means life ever after.
 

Here's what think some of the hinderance is due to:

1) Our lack of trust in what God can do. We put God in this box of all he can do for us is what we can see or what we think is important to us.

2)Our failure to see the big picture. In our flesh we get so caught up in the "moment" not even thinking about the long term repercussions that this could have on our lives. We never think that in the next minute God's grace with us could run out.

3)Our lack of relationship. This is key because I think that a true 100% would render a a total commitment.
 

Okay, lovely... We have a reward in the end. But, why don't we walk in the reward we are entitled to right now. Commitment to Christ has some benefits. There are some benefits that are for the now. As well as some that are intended for the later. The Word clearly says that we are to be lenders and not borrowers, the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. When do we walk in that?

Most churches don't even touch on that. We are taught it is wrong to want the best of the best now. I want all that God has for me. What he has for me now and what he has set aside for later. The world has a better grasp on this thing than we do. They are living in the now. They are going all that is available for them and with a no holds barred mentality. We as the body are ok with just getting by. And I am not talking only about material things. We as the body of Christ should be doing greater works. And we aren't doing that either. Granted there are some that are but the percentages are really low. When are we to walk in that?
 

The comments are good - and you have told me what you feel like the issue is. What is the solution - from a practical standpoint. I think we have become "pro" in problem identification while we are still unable to fix very much!

CONFRONT those things that hold back the people of God and TOUCH
those who are in need of sound biblical teaching and comfort from
the Holy Ghost through the ministry of God's Word. that is our soulution..i undertsand that we always r quick to say what down falls r..but i lear that is not that we dont have good soulutions its that we dont go about excuting them right..its how u start that thing..we never start or if we do we do one big thing or parade get everyone there and after they r done we collect there money ,snot rags from cryin and send them bout there way expextin them to just be save..but not training them how to stay saved, were to come to for help,what to do when problems arise,when to call on the lord and when to call on people of God,"elders".u never seen aaron leave moses side after a good word..or the apstoles leavin Jesus.why the Lord kept them hungry for more ..thats why people such as paul,timothy ans the others was so committed..we need some more Marys in the body of christ..Why ? Cause she was not leavin until she seen him raise after 3days ..everyone left but her.we need to go back and get those spirits back. I'm sorry ut we lack in excution.
