Service Yesterday

I normally do not post about service, but I have to say without a shadow of a doubt, that service yesterday was just another level. We have been talking about transition and yesterday's message was entitled "out with the old, in with the new". The creative team did the entire stage and put in some hard work to make sure that we got our point across. I am really hoping that we got some pictures (I know we have some video, but I have not seen it yet). Once I see what we have, I will make sure that I post it for everyone to check out.
When it comes to our worship services, I think often times we do not put enough time in to make sure that the entire service is an experience that brings God glory. At Word of Faith, we aim to create an experience that is from door-to-door. Innovation and growth in 2006 is about more that the message, it is about the holistic nature of our church services... I think we have a lot more work to do, and we will never be finished, but we are constantly striving!

Comments:
Service was awesome on yesterday. And I am not just saying that because I am a member of WOF. At WOF we are “trained” rather than “taught” or “lectured” each week. The messages at WOF are so practical and the presentation makes it easier to apply them to my life. The messages are engaging; they hold your attention. The presentation makes you feel like you are a part of message. There is an old saying, “Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I understand.” Involvement in learning allows possession of skills and attitudes that lead you to seek out answers to questions and issues while enabling you to reach your full potential.

The body of Christ needs more innovation, talent, energy, and creativity in the pulpit to address complex issues of this day and age. A church should not only be a preparation for life. A church should be life.

For me it wasn't necessarily the innovation of the message although that was great. It was the overwhelming joy that I felt radiating off of the spirit in the people. I hadn't felt that in a while and it felt great. We just have to continue in spiritual warfare against those things that will try to quench that joy.

Service was different....I feels really good to participate and not feel like I am in bondage to another person's mind set of what praise and worship should be. The message was awesome....so let's take it to the streets.

... Or better yet, let's take it to the "nations"... Boo Boo!
